Florence, KY – Balluff’s new line of EtherNet/IP™ machine-mount I/O blocks provides seamless communication down to the sensors and actuators and, along with supporting cables and accessories, offers immediate cost savings with long-term performance.

balluff_ethernet

The comprehensive line of EtherNet/IP™ products includes twelve versions of machine-mount I/O blocks, an IP 67 unmanaged switch, network cables and accessories. At the heart of the line are the I/O blocks. These blocks have a low initial cost per point and are designed to save money over the life of the system with maximum uptime and easy maintenance.

Fast and easy IP addressing can be accomplished using BOOTP/ DHCP, through an IP67 IP Address Plug (IPAP), via a pushbutton display (100 series only), or web pages. Backlit for easy reading, the addressable display shows all the octets of the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address while push buttons allow for easy adjustment of any octet of the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address. Detachable for rapid module replacement, the IPAP stores the module’s addressing information in a convenient quick-disconnect unit.

Certified by ODVA to ensure interoperability, these I/O blocks operate at up to 100 Mbit/s speeds. The Ethernet cordset attachment point uses a rugged metal threaded M12 D-coded port. Balluff also offers a full line of physical media, including M12 (D-code) connectors, RJ45 adapters, bulkheads, and any other accessory to complete an industrial Ethernet installation.

No other industrial network has seen a growth explosion like Industrial Ethernet. The rapid growth is fueled by the seamless communication from plant level down to the sensors and actuators. With high-speed, deterministic throughput and the proven reliability of the physical layer, Industrial Ethernet networks will continue to grow for years to come.

EtherNet/IP™ has become a popular network for connecting field devices to centralized control solutions from Allen Bradley™ and other suppliers. EtherNet/IP™ allows designers to seamlessly integrate a broad range of compatible connectivity products from many manufacturers.

Aerotech NanoTranslation (ANT95-L, ANT95-L-H) cross-roller bearing stages combine high speed, accuracy, resolution, repeatability, and reliability into a compact package. As an evolution of the popular ANT stage family, these linear stages exhibit enhanced motion performance such as 5 g acceleration, 500 mm/s velocity, enhanced load capacity, and standardized, universal base mounting patterns that allow the use of this flexible stage family in a wide range of configurations.

aerotech-stage.jpg

Noncontact Direct-Drive
ANT95-L stages utilize advanced direct-drive technology, pioneered by Aerotech, to achieve the highest level of positioning performance with resolution of 5 nm, repeatability of 50 nm, and accuracy of 250 nm. Aerotech direct-drive technology is non-cogging, noncontact, high speed, high resolution, and high accuracy, and the use of anti-creep cross-roller bearings allows ultra-precision (5 nm) incremental moves to be accomplished reliably and repeatably. This unique drive and bearing combination, packaged in an extremely small-profile and footprint, offers tangible advantages in applications such as high-precision positioning, disk-drive fabrication, fiber alignment, optical delay element actuation, sensor testing, and scanning processes that demand smooth and precise motion.

Flexible System Design
The ANT95-L family has universal mounting and tabletop patterns that allow for easy system integration. Two, three, or more axes can be easily combined for flexible system designs and multi-axis configurations.

System Characteristics
Outstanding accuracy, position repeatability, and in-position stability require high system resolution. The ANT95-L industry-leading 5 nm minimum incremental step size provides this high level of performance. Excellent in-position stability assisted by high-quality, anti-creep cross-roller bearings, enables virtually maintenance-free operation over the life of the product. Aerotech’s direct-drive technology has no hysteresis or backlash, enabling accurate and repeatable nanometer-scale motion.

System Control
To get the most out of your ANT95-L, Aerotech produces award-winning, high performance, single- and multi-axis motion controllers that excel in any application. The Automation 3200, Ensemble, and Soloist controllers are a perfect complement to your high-performance stage.

These new models are ideal for factories where various power supply options are present. They provide a wide range of torque, speed, and horsepower to fit a wide variety of applications such as conveyor systems, packaging machines, and factory automation. These highly efficient, variable speed AC motors can help to reduce power consumption and lower production costs.

bodine-pacesetter.jpg

The 34R and 42R frame motors are now available with dual voltage windings and inverter duty ratings. When operated with an AC speed control (inverter), these motors have a speed range from 120-3,650 rpm; maximum torque of up to 281 oz-in. (2 Nm) and are rated from 1/4 to 3/8 HP. They can be matched with Bodine’s three most popular gearheads, the type E, F and 5N. The type E and F are both parallel shaft designs, with gear ratios from 5:1 to 300:1; their torque is rated from 25 to 341 lb-in. (up to 39 Nm), and power is rated up to 3/8 HP (280 W). The type 5N right-angle gearhead has gear ratios from 5:1 to 75:1. It provides a torque range between 54 and 116 lb-in. (up to 13 Nm) and up to 3/8 HP (280 W) power. Larger type 48R dual voltage motors and gearmotors are already available up to 3/4 HP (560 W).

EXCEL-A-BELT Miniature Drive Belt System

April 20, 2009 by Editor

Something new in the miniature drive belt system from NBK. After years of testing, NBK’s system offers a unique arched tooth profile with zero backlash which enables the system to run longer, cleaner, and quieter than common drive belts in use today.

nbkexcel.jpg

The key to the new tooth profile, which allows for high accuracy positioning and precise rotation transmission, is that it provides a rolling action between the belt and the specially formed drive sprocket. As the belt tooth enters and leaves the sprocket it does so in a rocking motion which reduces wear and contaminates from belt or sprocket tooth abrasion.

The drive sprockets have bore sizes ranging from 3-25mm and PD’s of 17-54mm and come standard for shaft clamping. Four belt widths of 3, 4, 6, and 9mm are available. Excel-A-Belt miniature drive system is perfectly suited for use with motors of 10-1,000W.
