			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions (<a href="http://www.haydonkerk.com/">www.HaydonKerk.com</a>) has released the Haydon RoHS compliant IDEA Size 23 Non-captive Linear Actuator, which combines programmable control and high-output force, rotary to linear motion, stepper drive in a single integrated package. The linear actuator delivers an output force of up to 200 lb ft (890 N) and linear travel per step ranging between 0.000125&#8243; (0.0031 mm) and 0.005&#8243; (0.127 mm).</p>
<p>Featuring an easy-to-use graphic user interface, the configuration of the IDEA programmable linear actuator offers a stroke length of up to 20 inches with various screw pitches, effectively enabling fine-resolution linear motion. The programmable linear actuator is ideally suited for precision fluid dispensing, motion systems for optics and lasers, small gantry robots, high-resolution imaging as well as in other applications demanding precision linear motion.</p>
<p>Instead of using proprietary programming languages or other complicated command sets, the actuator is programmed using an on-screen graphic buttons. Using interactive debug feature, the software enables the system designer to troubleshoot programs easily through multiple-line or line-by-line program execution. Inputs and outputs can also be simulated in the software before connecting actual I/O hardware.</p>

<p>The IDEA programmable linear actuator also features eight opto-isolated general purpose I/O, 3.85 Arms max rated current per phase with a 30 percent boost current capability for ramping and a single supply voltage of 12 to 75 VDC. The inputs are rated for five VDC to 24 VDC, 4mA maximum per input, while the outputs are open collector, five VDC to 24 VDC, 200mA max per output.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Parker Hannifin’s (<a href="http://www.parkermotion.com/">www.parkermotion.com</a>) Electromechanical Automation Division has released a miniature screw-driven positioner inspired by its award-winning MX80 family, the MX45S linear positioner. Measuring only 45 mm wide, the new MX45S has been specifically designed to meet the needs of OEMs for reliable linear positioning in space-restricted applications.</p>
<p>The positioner features an anti-cage creep cross roller bearings to allow users to conveniently position normal loads of up to seven kg (15.4 lbs) on three available standard travel lengths of 25 mm, 15 mm and five mm. The MX45S is supplied with a high-precision ballscrew or a high-efficiency leadscrew, both of which can produce 40 N of thrust at 30 mm/s and 20 mm/s linear velocities, respectively.</p>
<p>The MX45S linear positioner is suitable for various applications including fiber optic alignment, biomedical imaging, laser diode research and semiconductor inspection.</p>
<p>“The MX45S is designed for applications requiring small incremental movements, micron repeatabilities, smooth motion and high stiffness, all in an ultra-compact package,” said Product Manager Michael Szesterniak.</p>

<p>The stepper motor driven positioner also features ultra compact profile, standard multi-axis configurations and maximum velocity of 30 mm/s.</p>
<p>Aside from the standard features offered in the MX45S, it also provides several options to help match the performance of the positioner to the application requirements. The options include linear and rotary encoders, the ability to receive and order one of 11 pre-engineered multi-axis systems and digital limit/home sensor packs.</p>

<p>Aside from exceeding the performance of comparable size actuators, the new G4 linear actuator also offers performance similar to that of larger 46 mm and 42 mm linear actuators from different manufacturers. Using the same pilot surface and bolt pattern, users can easily replace the 46 mm and 42 mm units with the 36 mm unit with adapter plate.</p>
<p>The 36 mm G4 linear actuator is not only cost efficient, it is also more compact making it suitable for users working in environments where space is a premium. It also delivers a force output ranging between 70 N and 260 N (16 lb to 58 lb).</p>
<p>It employs state-of-the-art technologies to meet high-performance requirements as well as to extend its reliability. This compact linear actuator is specifically designed with optimized teeth geometry with high-energy neodymium magnets to achieve a higher continuous force output. Offering 20 percent higher output force, the new G4 integrated the latest larger bearings and custom-engineered plastics for higher axial load capacity and greater rotor support.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Aerotech (<a href="http://www.aerotech.com/">www.aerotech.com</a>) has introduced a high speed, cost-effective linear-servomotor-driven actuator that is more precise than a belt-drive or a ball screw — the ACT Linear Motor Actuator. Unlike belt-drives and ball screws, the high-performing ACT is maintenance free, as it is comprised of non-contact linear motors and encoders.</p>
<p>Since it is a built-in assembled mechanical system, it does away with the guesswork involved in assembling individual parts, making it suitable for various applications, such as pick and place machines, assembly, packaging, electronic assembly and qualification, dispensing, vision inspection, image scanning and processing, life sciences, and inkjet printing.</p>
<p>The ACT is powered by Aerotech&#8217;s cog-free linear motors, which enables it to accelerate to five g and achieve a top speed of five m/s. Its rigid mechanical structure reduces settling times while providing outstanding dynamic performance. Providing remarkable system responsiveness, its linear motor has zero friction, no windup and zero backlash, while its magnetic field is self-contained in the U-channel design.</p>
<p>Each ACT actuator features non-contact linear optical encoders that deliver micron-level of repeatabilities. For maximum flexibility, the ACT has also been designed with an amplified sine-wave output or line-driver output encoder. It also comes with optional factory calibration to optimize standard repeatability and accuracy.</p>

This all stainless steel rail and bearing system is strong, anti-magnetic, corrosion resistant, low cost and easy to install. Designed to be washed down with disinfectants or high strength industrial cleaners the DEFENDER Linear Rail TM linear bearing system is ideal for medical, pharmaceutical and food processing applications, as well as draw and rack glides, and sliding doors.</p>

<p>The bearing rails are rolled 304 stainless with an internal bearing race. Each three bearing slider unit is 80 mm (3.15 inches) long. Each 440C stainless steel ball bearing roller is lubricated for life, features 2RS seals, and can be washed down. The slider’s center bearing is mounted on a eccentric shaft for adjusting the preload. The cross section of the compact bearing and slider is only 26 mm x .22 mm (1.02 in. x .866 in.). The Stainless Steel rails are available in lengths of 1040 mm (40.94 in.), 1520 mm (59.84 in.), 2080 mm (81.89 in.), and 3120 mm (122.83 in.) or in cut to order sizes.</p>

<p>The new MKR hygienic option has a specially-designed aluminum profile that is smoother than standard MKR bodies to prevent build-up of liquids and foreign debris. Combined with the MKR’s proven stainless steel strip cover for the drive and guide elements, the new design allows the MKR to eliminate residual liquid in applications such as food processing machines or other washdown environments.</p>
<p>These new hygienic modules are precise, high-performance linear systems with compact dimensions in a ready-to-mount design. With lengths up to 12 meters and speeds to 5 m/s, the belt-driven MKR hygienic modules use precision Rexroth Ball Rail® systems for internal guidance to achieve precise positioning. For additional protection against contamination, thin dense chrome plating can be applied to many internal components. DryLin® linear bearings and guide systems are wear-resistant, self-lubricating, contamination and corrosion-free and have a low coefficient of friction.<br />

Igus manufactures four styles of linear guide systems, including DryLin T, DryLin N, DryLin W and DryLin linear slide tables. DryLin T consists of a hard-anodized aluminum, T-shaped rail, an adjustable carriage made of clear-anodized aluminum and gliding elements made from igus’ iglide J polymer material blend, to form a lightweight unit. DryLin T can be used in both automation and material handling applications, and due to its corrosion-resistant, lubrication-free features, is ideal for food, medical and clean room technologies.</p>
<p>Some additional features of DryLin T include:</p>
<li>a low rate of inertia for high accelerations and high speeds;</li>
<li>adjustable clearance for a space-saving solution;</li>
<li>extremely quiet operation; and</li>
<li>the capacity to withstand high static loads in all directions for consistent performance under strenuous conditions.</li>
<p>DryLin N, a lightweight, low-profile linear guide system, is designed for both high-speed and short-travel applications. Plastic gliding elements run in an anodized aluminum rail, which enables maintenance-free operation. The guide system also boasts a small mounting height and width.</p>

<p>DryLin N delivers superior performance in many different applications, such as:</p>
<li>medical devices;</li>
<li>packaging machinery;</li>
<li>material-handling devices; and</li>

<p>DryLin W, the newest member of the DryLin suite of linear bearings, is available in multiple rail configurations and styles to provide more design options. This low-cost, extremely compact linear guide system can be found in automation, textile or machine tool applications. It is available as a combination of two supported round shafts in one profile, in a split rail configuration or with square rails.</p>
<p>DryLin W is an ideal solution when:</p>
<li>a robust, corrosion-free and wear-resistant component is needed;</li>
<li>space-restraints are an issue; and</li>
<li>elements such as dirt or dust are present.</li>
<p>Like DryLin W, DryLin linear slide tables also are cost-effective. They are designed to last in applications where ball screws and slides fail, and are available in five styles with a number of accessory options. Drylin linear slide tables can be used in low-speed or hand-powered motor applications requiring precise movement and, because they are lubrication-free, DryLin slide tables are well suited for environments where oil or any type of lubrication would lead to contamination and erosion.</p>
<p>DryLin linear slide tables also:</p>
<li>are resistant to both corrosion and chemicals;</li>
<li>deliver a maintenance-free, dry-running performance; and</li>
<li>are immune to contaminant build-up, which prevents shaft damage and failure.</li>
<p>In addition to its line of DryLin linear guide systems, igus also offers DryLin R linear bearings. DryLin R compensates for misalignment errors and is a weight-saving alternative to ball bearings. In applications where noise reduction is imperative, DryLin R is an ideal choice and can be used in conjunction with Drylin S aluminum shafting in underwater applications and where excessive amounts of dirt are present. DryLin R is available in plain, pillow block and flange styles.</p>
<p>All DryLin bearings and guide systems are lightweight, maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant. DryLin is part of the iglide suite of plastic bearings, which are available in more than 6,000 sizes and styles from stock.</p>

<p>Pre-engineering and the use of standard components eliminate the cost, long lead times and risk of custom conveyors. Available in sizes 2 and 3, DualVee washdown wheels feature an all stainless steel construction, FDA approved grease, an outer shield, and inner seal for added protection from liquids and debris. The rubberized metallic shield acts as a momentary seal when subjected to a stream of high velocity washdown fluid.  The fluid velocity causes the rubberized shield to deflect and conform to the metallic surface of the wheel, sealing against ingress of liquids.  The inner seal provides the principal line of defense, ensuring that external fluids are kept out of the wheel while retaining the internal lubrication grease; both important factors affecting the life of the wheel.  Once the stream is directed away from the wheel, the deflected shield returns to its original position, allowing any residual fluid that entered the zone between the shield and seal to drain out or be spun out by centrifugal force.
