			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SKF (<a href="http://www.skf.com">www.skf.com</a>) has announced that its Solar Linear Actuator-CASD-60 helps reduce CO2 emissions by raising a solar panel’s energy production by 5.8 MWh/year.</p>
<p>Based on a world power grid mix CO2 factor of 0.749 kg CO2/kWh, this translates to a reduction per solution of 4.4 tons of CO2 per year. Unlike rigid PV solar panel systems, the solar linear actuators increase power generation by 15 percent, on average.</p>
<p>“Harnessing renewable energy is one of the most effective solutions for reducing carbon dioxide,” said Mahdi Sebti, Global Segment Manager at SKF Renewable Energy, Solar.</p>
<p>“SKF’s advanced electromechanical technology offers improvements over today’s maintenance-intensive solutions and delivers high performance, accuracy and efficiency by accurately tracking the sun’s position throughout the day and throughout the seasons.”</p>

<p>The figures are applicable for 58 sq m panels equipped with an SKF Solar Linear Actuator, CASD-60. The results may vary depending on the size of the panel. Larger panel yields more environmental benefit since the actuator’s production and waste treatment does not significantly affect the results.</p>
<p>A part of the BeyondZero Portfolio product, the solar linear actuators seamlessly combine robust design, virtually maintenance free-operation, easy installation and reduced downtime to effectively reduce solar power generation costs while increasing profitability and productivity.</p>

<p><strong>Self-Locking Ultrasonic Motors, Direct Linear Drive, Direct Metrology Linear Encoders</strong><br />
The self-locking direct-drive motors in the M-687 positioner provide up to 10X higher positional stability. Because no holding current is required and there are neither leadscrews that heat up and drift during operation, no lubricant flow causing creep the stage is ideal for long term imaging applications. Linear encoders with 100 nanometer resolution provide direct position measurement with high accuracy. The compact design with minimized mass and inertia provides high precision bidirectional speed and position control, as well as very constant velocity, even at very low speeds. The drive system is based on the new U-164 Piezo Motor and outperforms the stability, acceleration and settling speed of traditional servo motor direct drives and gear-driven mechanisms.</p>
<p><strong>Controller/Software Support</strong><br />
The microscope stage is delivered with a joystick and a proprietary piezo motor controller optimized to take advantage of the specific motion characteristics of ultrasonic ceramic motors. USB interfacing and a solid software and driver package for seamless integration are part of the package.</p>

<p>Compared to conventional worm and gear drives, the PSR300 rotary table rotates significantly faster and delivers higher equipment productivity and more accurate processed parts as it feature zero backlash with no vibration and gear wear.</p>
<p>Tested to 300 rpm continuous rotation of the traditional transmission based rotary table with comparable payload capacity and apertures, the rotary table employs direct drive brushless modular motor technology to maximize positioning performance. Aside from delivering high speeds and acceleration, this technology also has no gear trains to maintain and no brushes to wear, making the PSR300 rotary table ideally suited for applications that demand for smooth scan velocity, contoured motion and precise incremental steps.</p>

<p>The rotary table features sub arc-second high resolution encoder to ensure accurate positioning. Its motor and ring encoder are directly connected to a rotating shaft. The absence of mechanical couplings and gear trains effectively eliminates positioning errors attributed to windup, backlash or hysteresis. This enables the PSR300 rotary table to achieve a bi-directional repeatability of ±0.5 arc sec and an accuracy of ±5 arc sec.</p>

Offering an acceleration force of up to 3100N, the S605 Linear Shaft Motor also delivers a continuous force of up to 780N.</p>
<p>The motor’s simple structure allows it to achieve sub-micron resolution, use all created magnetic flux, minimize heat generation while eliminating cogging issues. The stiffness of the S605 is 100 times greater than that offered by comparable motors.</p>
<p>With shaft diameter measuring 60.5 mm, the S605 Linear Shaft Motor is offered with one of three kinds of windings (double, triple, quadruple). Its acceleration force range from 1000N to 3100N, while its acceleration current range between 34 and 35A. The S605’s acceleration current and force can be maintained for up to 40 seconds.</p>

<p>Available in two different lengths, 47” and 94”, the corrosion-resistant aluminum track may be cut to the desired length. It can be mounted either flat, side or vertically. The track is ideal for applications requiring non-load bearing guide when mounted vertically.</p>

<p>Carrying a maximum of 265 pounds, the load rating or 115RC linear track system based on the number and type of carriages fitted into the track.</p>
<p>It comes in two carriage options — the grease-free polymer ball offers clean and maintenance free operation as well as a quite and smooth movement, while the stainless steel ball carriage provides the highest load capacity.</p>
<p>To ease installation, the tracks feature drilling marks for both the end stops and fixing holes. Once installed, the ball carriages are then inserted into the tracks, while attaching the end stops to secure the carriage.</p>

<p>Actuators have low profile, high-stability compact and monolithic design, and together with its high resolution make these devices ideal for integration in high precision measurement and micro-manufacturing systems.</p>
<p>The MLA-173 actuators provide precision travel from to 50 to 150mm and have two limit sensors for end of travel and referencing. Motors have graduated knobs for manual operation and position observation.</p>
<p>Designed for space-limited applications and compact multi-axis assemblies, MLA Series linear stages provide high resolution, single-axis translation in a low-cost motorized package. Typical applications include fiber optic alignment, laser diode research, bio-medical applications and inspection systems.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The absolute LC 115 and LC 415 sealed linear encoders from HEIDENHAIN are now available for use on machines with measuring lengths up to 4240 mm. Their double sealing lips on the LC 115 version protect against contamination, and their extrusions ensure high vibration resistance, making these encoders extremely strong on the accuracy front.</p>
<p>These encoders improve upon HEIDENHAIN&#8217;s already successful LC xx3 series, as the LC 115/415 now focus on the requirements for purely-serial absolute systems. This product introduction has opened with the safety-related purely-serial Endat 2.2 (up to 16 MHz) encoder version. Soon interfaces can also be paired with these encoders such as from Fanuc (ai), Siemens (DRIVE-CLiQ) and Mitsubishi (High Speed Interface up to 5 MHz).</p>

<p>The Functional-safety (FS) encoder versions are available for the EnDat 2.2 interface and in the near future DRIVE-CLiQ interface. This means that these encoders can be used as single-encoder systems in safety-related applications, such as in axes with a linear motor. In addition to safe processing of the position values, these encoders provide fault exclusions for the loosening of the mechanical coupling for various types of mounting.</p>
<p>As mentioned, the LC 115 features an optimized sealing design with two successive pairs of sealing lips. When compressed air is introduced into the scale housing, a very effective seal between the two sealing lip pairs is the result. This protects the DIADUR graduation inside, which is responsible for the positioning accuracy, from contamination by dust, chips and coolant.</p>
<p>The resolution of the LC 115 and the LC 415 with an accuracy grade of 3 µm was increased from 5 nm to 1 nm, compared to past LC xx3 series.</p>

Featuring high value cost effective designs, the stages come with three screw drives as well as ten different travel lengths that range between 50 mm and 500 mm. Its compact envelope measures 50 mm x 100 mm and has bottom tapped holes and easily accessible external mounting holes, which provide users with various installation options.</p>
<p>Its optional Toe Clamps allows for quick and easy mounting during installation. Providing moment loading capability in all directions, its preloaded recirculating precision guide rails also offer a firm platform with support geometry for outstanding trajectory.</p>

The stage can cover precision grades across the entire spectrum, with its standard variant ready for a size #23, #17 NEMA frame motor and other optional custom motor interfaces, including both stepper and servo motors. Its three LED sensors for limit and home sensing are interconnected with a DB connector at the rear bulkhead.</p>
<p>Offered in black or stainless steel finish, the three-sided cover of the stage serves as a protective device with a labyrinth seal for harsh, normal, vacuum or clean room environments. In addition, the auxiliary accessories can be fitted on top of the stage’s external T-Slot groove.</p>
<p>The stages are ideally suited for use in various applications such as in bio-medical production processes, semi-conductor fabrication and metrology, general automation equipment, optical testing, laser machine platforms, laboratory and R&amp;D, assembly, metrology, life sciences equipment and micromachining.</p>
