EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Igus® Inc. offers a maintenance-free alternative to re-circulating ball bearings and cumbersome, expensive linear guides. DryLin® linear bearings and guide systems are wear-resistant, self-lubricating, contamination and corrosion-free and have a low coefficient of friction.

Igus manufactures four styles of linear guide systems, including DryLin T, DryLin N, DryLin W and DryLin linear slide tables. DryLin T consists of a hard-anodized aluminum, T-shaped rail, an adjustable carriage made of clear-anodized aluminum and gliding elements made from igus’ iglide J polymer material blend, to form a lightweight unit. DryLin T can be used in both automation and material handling applications, and due to its corrosion-resistant, lubrication-free features, is ideal for food, medical and clean room technologies.
Some additional features of DryLin T include:
DryLin N, a lightweight, low-profile linear guide system, is designed for both high-speed and short-travel applications. Plastic gliding elements run in an anodized aluminum rail, which enables maintenance-free operation. The guide system also boasts a small mounting height and width.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Igus® Inc. announced the introduction of a new line of maintenance-free, slewing-ring bearings. Iglide PRT slewing-ring bearings include a sliding element made from iglide J plastic, an aluminum housing and stainless steel screws. The use of iglide J makes the new slewing ring maintenance and lubrication free.

Iglide PRT is available in various sizes, including a compact option with an inner diameter of 1.18 inches. These slewing rings have high wear resistance, high rigidity and are easy to assemble. They are ideal for semiconductor, clean room, assembly, production and robotic applications.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Igus® Inc., the industry-leading developer of Energy Chain Systems®, Chainflex® continuous-flex cables and iglide® plastic bearings, offers various strain relief elements for its comprehensive line of Energy Chain® cable carriers. Designed to house, protect and extend the service life of cables and hoses on automated machinery, Energy Chain is a lightweight, maintenance-free plastic housing that prevents cables from breaking, corkscrewing or tangling. Strain relief is an important element of any Energy Chain System, as it properly positions the cables in the cavity of the carrier. Energy Chain Systems, combined with appropriate strain relief elements, provide customers with an enhanced defense against cable damage.
Igus’ line of strain relief elements includes Chainfix clips, tiewraps, tiewrap plates and modular strain relief blocks. Customers requiring simple, space-saving strain relief can use a combination of plates and tiewraps. Every plate is equipped with a set of comb-like teeth. Using tiewraps, the cables are fastened to the teeth of the plate, which clips into the profile rail without the need for bolts or hardware. To save time, the plate can be directly integrated into the carrier’s mounting bracket.
For applications requiring more intense strain relief, igus offers the Chainfix clip, a modular snap-on device consisting of a series of top and bottom clamps. The unit accommodates cable diameters ranging from four to 24 millimeters and can be configured vertically enabling as many as three layers of cable to be strain relieved at once. Modular strain relief blocks—designed for small cables with diameters between 4.3 and 14 millimeters—also are available. With this option, customers eliminate the need for fastening hardware.
All of igus’ strain relief elements are compatible with almost any Energy Chain cable carrier such as System E4, designed for high-acceleration, high-speed applications and System E6 for extremely quiet operation. Custom-tailored options also are available. Energy Chain is used in numerous industries ranging from medical to farming to manufacturing. Energy Chain cable carriers are the perfect partner for Chainflex continuous-flex cables from igus. Chainflex cables are available in more than 700 sizes and styles. Contact igus for free samples and a free design consultation. Igus requires no minimum quantities on any order.
