A proven versatile choice for micro to medium applications

★ By Miles Budimir Leave a Comment

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Igus® Inc., the industry-leading developer of Energy Chain Systems®, Chainflex® continuous-flex cables and iglide® plastic bearings, offers micro-, mini- and medium-sized Energy Chain® cable carriers for a wide range of applications. System E2, a family of Energy Chains including System E2 micro, System E2 mini and System E2 medium, is maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant and delivers a lengthy service life.

System E2 micro is easy to install and available with numerous connection options. Considered one of the world’s smallest cable carriers—inner heights start at just .20 inches with inner widths of .203—it can fit into almost any application, including those with both tight space restrictions and small bending radii. System E2 micro also is an economical choice for designers and is currently being used in many places from vending machines and automatic doors to ATM machines and medical engineering devices.

System E2 mini is similar in many ways to its smaller counterpart, the micro. It also is a low-cost solution and features many connection options. In addition, System E2 mini can come equipped with interior separation to prevent cables from chaffing, twisting and corkscrewing. This will significantly increase the service life of cables and hoses. With a bending radius as small as 1.10 inches, System E2 mini is a dependable choice for applications requiring a small, stable energy chain management system.

System E2 medium, the largest of the E2 family of carriers, features snap-open crossbars along the entire length of the chain for easy cable access. It is available in eight different widths and bending radii and is suitable for gliding applications.

Like all Energy Chains, System E2 is easy to install and can assembled or disassembled with a tool as simple as a screwdriver. All igus Energy Chains are made from high-performance plastics that withstand an array of environmental elements such as rain, dirt, dust, heat and chemicals. They are lightweight and vibration-free. For free samples or design consultation, contact an igus design technician.
