Belt-driven linear motion for high throughput

★ By Jennifer Calhoon Leave a Comment

Thomson Industries Inc., a manufacturer of mechanical motion control solutions, now manufactures its popular WH SpeedLine Linear Units in North America to reduce delivery times for customers.

The WH SpeedLine is a belt-driven positioning slide with an H-type roller guideway system designed to handle high forces and moments. These high efficiency units provide smooth, accurate linear motion; can be installed in any orientation, and can be used for multi-axis configuration systems. Compact in form with high throughput capability, the range is ideal for applications such as packaging, filling and dispensing, material handling and general automation.

As well as offering smooth performance, fast acceleration, high speed linear motion for medium to high loads; the WH SpeedLine series is designed to lower maintenance costs through the use of belts that can be easily re-tensioned or exchanged without removing the system load for horizontal applications. Belts are steel reinforced to reduce wear and an easy access centralized lubrication system further assures ongoing reliable performance.

The manufacture of the WH SpeedLine in North America offers customers the benefits of this high performance, compact linear motion solution with exceptionally fast delivery times. The flexible range can handle dynamic loads of up to 9,300 N (2091 lbf) over stroke lengths of up to 11 m (433 in) with acceleration up to 40 m/s2 (1575 in/s2) and speeds of up to 10 m/s (394 in/s).

As with all Thomson solutions, customers are assured of leading technical support, efficient customization services if required and easy product selection using latest online tools.
