Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation (www.bwc.com) has expanded its MadeWell product range with the addition of the Radial Wheel, a deep-groove single-row ball bearing ideally suited for applications with specified radial loading conditions.
“Customers familiar with our products were asking for a linear guide wheel like this, a product that met the need for applications with specified radial loading conditions, not axial, and we are happy to have designed a solution that meets their demands,” said Pamela Kan, President of Bishop-Wisecarver.
“This comes as a major innovation in the industry, making it possible to put your design in motion accurately, quietly and economically with all the benefits of quality, durability and ease of use.”
Unlike traditional linear bearings, the Radial Wheel, which is offered in three primary sizes, allows users to achieve effortless, reliable motion in working environments exposed to debris such as grit or sawdust. With all sizes traveling at a maximum speed of 5.5 meters per second, the bearings can also convey heavy loads even without added capabilities unnecessary to the application requirements.
Featuring an outside diameter of between 0.774 inches and 1.803 inches, the new wheels are also available in stainless steel or carbon steel variants.
Custom designed with a 90-degree running surface of the company’s vee edge track — which is a linear bearing raceway that comes with polished running surfaces — the ball bearing works well in finished products such as heavy duty drawers, motorized doors and windows, sliding wall panels and high-end or commercial furniture.
Aside from meeting the needs of DIY enthusiasts and hobbyists, the Radial Wheel is also suited for use in almost all industries, including material handling, transportation, printing, robotics, automotive architecture, power transmission and railway, controls, consumer products as well as general and lab automation.
