Continental introduces lighter-weight Conti Texsteel conveyor belting at NIBA Convention

★ By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

Continental has introduced at the 2016 NIBA Convention, Conti Texsteel, an aramid textile reinforced line of conveyor belting for applications where high strength, low elongation and lighter weight are essential.

Conti Texsteel, exclusive from Continental Select, is a very specific line of lightweight conveyor belting designed to provide belt strengths of a steel cord belt design, but at a much lesser weight.

“The advantage of Conti Texsteel is using aramid fabric to create a belt carcass as strong as steel when compared from a strength-to-weight ratio,” said Chris Marchant, product manager for the conveyor belt group.  “An added benefit to using a Conti Texsteel conveyor belt is energy cost savings.  Over time, the lower power consumption used to drive the belt will equate to lower energy costs and higher savings.”

Conti Texsteel is available in a wide selection of specifications designed specifically for the application. Tensile strengths range from 400piw to 2,000piw with a compound and cover thickness that can be selected to match the given application.
