Kollmorgen’s DS4/6 high-precision modular positioning tables offer superior design flexibility

★ By Heather Hall Leave a Comment

The DS4/6 Series is Kollmorgen’s most versatile and modular line of positioning tables, offering design flexibility and a wide variety of configurations for high-precision positioning applications.

The DS4/6 series is available in single and multi-axis configurations, including XY, XZ, XYZ and Cartesian arrangements. The tables are driven by a precision ball screw (with 5, 10 or 25 mm lead), and ride-on stainless-steel rails with travel lengths from 50 to 2000 mm. An innovative magnetic cover protects the entire screw length and linear bearing system to provide operator safety and seal out contamination. Integrated motor options include the AKM family of brushless servo motors paired with AKD series servo drives or optional NEMA 17, 23, 34 hybrid stepper motor mounts.

  • Maximum stroke length to 2,000 mm (79 in)
  • Load capacities to 630 Kg (1340 lb)
  • Thrust forces from 138 to 440 lb
  • Positioning accuracies as low as 8 µm with repeatability as low as +-1.3 µm

Precision positioning tables are best suited for applications where accuracy and repeatability requirements are more important than the axial thrust of the drive train. (Precision positioning tables can be used in less precise applications where high load capacities require adequate moment load support.) Kollmorgen’s DS4/6 tables are ideal modular components for building flexible, precision multi-axis positioning systems.
