Linak U.S., manufacturer of linear actuators, has begun a $33 million expansion of its Louisville, Ky. plant at 2200 Stanley Gault Parkway. The company purchased a vacant 14.6-acre site for this expansion earlier this year.
The new 145,000-square-foot building will double the size of the current facility and add more than 400 full-time jobs to the current team of 300.
Linak aims to improve production efficiency and lower production costs 25% while doubling output and sales over the next five years.
Latest motion applications: Electric actuators in new designs
Electric actuators come in versions as small as syringes for medical applications to those big enough to drive industrial presses. These muscles of precision motion usually incorporate an electric motor and rotary-to-linear device for conversion of torque to linear force.
No matter the application, electric actuators deliver repeatability that’s indispensable for moving loads to a given positions. Often they’re also more controllable than fluid-power actuators, giving engineers a way to shape speed, force and acceleration of machine-axis moves …
Electric Actuator LA14 – Tough World – Tough Actuator
The LA14 electric actuator from TECHLINE is the new member of a family of strong, robust TECHLINE actuators from LINAK. It has all of the TECHLINE qualities and has been fitted with an aluminum housing to make it applicable for the most extreme applications.
The actuator is rated to IP66 under dynamic operation and IP69K under static conditions. It delivers reliable performance in temperatures ranging from -40 to 85° C.
