The ATS115 linear ball-screw stage has side seals to keep dirt and particulates out of the stage. This protects bearing surfaces from contamination, which significantly increases stage and bearing life. The seals are also vertically oriented, deflecting debris away from the stage. What’s more, the robust aluminum hard cover is hard coated for scratch resistance. It uses a long-life linear motion guide bearing system and has travels to 600mm and speeds to 300mm/s.
A variety of third-party motors can attach to the ATS115 because it uses a NEMA 23 flange-mounting interface. Aerotech can provide brush, brushless, and stepper motors pre-configured and mounted directly to the stage for integration with Aerotech controls. Additionally, the stage is available without the motor for the attachment of third-party motors.
Base mounting holes are accessible from the outside of the stage for ease of integration. There is no need to remove the cover when mounting the stage or when attaching multiple stages together in an X/Y/Z system. The tabletop comes with both metric and English hole patterns and is available with brush attachments to clear debris that may collect on the hard cover. Tabletops with hole patterns for directly attaching Aerotech’s ADRS and ACS-LP series low profile direct-drive rotary stages are available.
Aerotech’s BMS series brushless, slotless servomotor with square-wave encoder output has a net resolution of 0.5 micron. An optional analog output encoder can be coupled with external interpolation electronics for higher resolution. For vertical applications, a holding brake can be added to the motor.
