Magnetostrictive linear position transducers from AutomationDirect

August 26, 2021 By Miles Budimir Leave a Comment

AutomationDirect has added Gefran WPG and WPP series magnetostrictive linear position transducers. These transducers work like other linear position sensors by translating a linear position to an electrical signal. However, they are contactless, which provides a longer life because there is no mechanical wear. Because they use magnetostrictive technology, they’re also immune to electromagnetic interferences.

Transducers are available in stroke lengths from 50 to 500 mm and with an analog output signal of either 0-10 Vdc or 4-20 mA for single output models. Double output models provide either a 0-10 Vdc and reverse 10-0 Vdc signal, or a 4-20 mA with a 20-4 mA reverse signal.

The electrical connection is made via a standard DIN connector or M12 connection, and all units are IP67 rated. Cursors are sold separately. The Gefran magnetostrictive linear position transducers start at $222.00 and have a 3-year warranty.
