Oriental Motor USA now offers AZ Series technology with absolute mechanical encoders across:
- The Oriental Motor EZS Series of electric linear slides
- The Oriental Motor EAC family of electric cylinders
AZ Series offerings work in advanced positioning applications because of their closed-loop control.
Linear-motion designs of the AZ Series also substantially reduce heat generation from the motor and incorporate a newly developed sensor for absolute-type positioning. The new Absolute Sensor operates autonomously — without additional battery backup or external sensors to buy.
Both the EZS Series and EAC Series come with AZ Series technology for high response, low vibration, and hunting-free operation … whether from electric cylinders or the stepper motors of electric linear slides.
Slides in the upgraded EZS Series are compact and rigid electric linear slides with a simple dust-resistant structure. It comes in a straight or reversed-motor design to satisfy myriad equipment spaces and environments.
These EZS Series motorized slides are also available in versions that accept a pulse input and versions with a built-in controller (network) type driver.
In contrast, electric cylinders in the new EAC Series are compact and high-strength linear actuators that output quick and responsive linear motion with the incorporation of a ball screw. EAC Series actuators also offer high performance no matter the axis ipm or load — from low speed to high speed or with light loads or heavy loads … even when subject to demanding operating conditions.
Available in straight-type or reversed-motor-type setups (and with a shaft guide and cover version also available) the linear cylinders also save design time and reduce part count. All EAC Series come with an electromechanical brake to make them suitable even for vertical operations.
Key features of the EZS electric slides and EAC electric cylinders incorporating AZ Series technology include:
- One driver, large family product group; inputs in ac or dc accepted; no battery or external sensors required for the absolute position feedback
- Reliable with high duty cycles; efficient linear-motion actuation; electromagnetic brake available
- Short lead time — with most actuators and motorized slides in quantities of 1 to 5 units available to ship in nine business days; prices from $1,023
