The US division of SKF (www.skfusa.com) has proudly announced that it will be presenting its latest SKF Solar Linear Actuator (Type CASD-60) at this year’s Solar Power International.
To be held from 17 to 20 October 2011 in Dallas, Texas, the event allows SKF to highlight its diverse product portfolio that is uniquely supporting the solar industry, while underscoring its various “green” initiatives introduced at major SKF facilities all over the world.
The new Solar Linear Actuator aims to improve solar power generation by precisely tracking the sun, starting from sunrise to sunset, all throughout the seasons. This new actuator has been specifically designed to operate virtually maintenance-free for a period of 20 years. It can also be applied for the full range of concentrating photovoltaic (CPV), photovoltaic (PV), or concentrating solar power (CSP) systems. Its high static load to dynamic load ratio helps the linear actuator reduce energy consumption; provide ideal positioning accuracy as well as limited backlash to deliver consistent tracking.
The company’s Solar Linear Actuator features a robust unit design that includes a sealed protective tube. This new product also promotes outstanding reliability even during extreme conditions and reduces installation time, while increasing drive protection.
To be exhibited at booth #7019, the new actuator will join the company’s expanding portfolio of solar industry-related products, such as lubrication systems, bearings and units, mechatronics, seals as well as services that provide reliable and high-performance solutions to meet event the most demanding requirements of solar-power system.
