Belt-driven electric actuators from IMI Norgren offer precise control

★ By Miles Budimir Leave a Comment

A new line of belt-driven electric actuators from IMI Norgren is designed to meet the force and extreme loading requirements for machine builders and plant engineers looking for an alternative to pneumatic actuators. NB27 single rail belt-driven linear actuator features a unique arc belt technology that improves traction for higher thrust. These single rail actuators offer enhanced strength and robustness compared to competing products, with less deflection and greater load and moment loading capability relative to carriage size. This extends service life and reduces maintenance, even in continuous 24/7 applications.

Well-built using high-quality components throughout its construction, the NB27 is IMI Norgren’s first option when considering a belt drive electric actuator for general purpose applications. The high precision steel reinforced belt is suitable for high-speed applications, with repeatability to 0.001 in. and long lengths up to 110 in. standard. The low-profile aluminum extrusion also provides a better fit in tight applications. The built-in linear ball rail guide is maintenance free, self-lubricating, low friction and has a long life expectance.

The NB257 is good fit for a range of applications including pick and place, loading, stacking, sorting, insertion, clamping, machine tool, conveyor, parts transfer, and labeling, among others.
