MKS now offers Newport MLT-Z vertical linear stages and pre-assembled MLT-XYZ stacks

December 15, 2021 By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

MKS Instruments is extending its MLT Series of compact, low profile high precision linear stages with pre-assembled XYZ-stacks and MLT-Z vertical stages. MLT stages are ideal for typical scanning or point-to-point applications in semiconductor, industrial, or research markets for metrology, sensor test and calibration, alignment, and pick-and-place assembly. The MLT series showcases the latest innovations and expertise of MKS in precision stage design for various industrial applications.

Built with high strength aluminum alloy, the base of each MLT stage is optimized with Finite Element Method (FEM) for highest rigidity and best thermal performance. Components like the long life and high load crossed roller bearings, high force linear motors and high precision linear encoders are carefully selected for guaranteed performance and highest reliability. MLT stages can easily be built into XY and XYZ configurations utilizing the available mounting holes. MKS offers pre-assembled XYZ stacks in the 25 mm and 50 mm short travel ranges. The MLT-Z vertical stage comes with four magnetic counterbalance plates to accommodate a range of vertical loads, while maintaining excellent positioning performance. The MLT Series is compatible with the XPS Series standard MKS motion controllers that support plug-and-play ESP technology.

“The MLT series features compact, low profile and fast linear stages with low operating cost and excellent reliability”, says Taguhi Dallakyan, Sr. Product Specialist at MKS Instruments. “MLT stages are available horizontal, vertical and in pre-assembled multi axis XYZ-configurations and can be used in a wide variety of commercial and research applications that require high precision positioning.”
