Cleveland-based Nook Industries now sells a complete line of precision metric ballscrew (PMBS) products. They’re an alternative to expensive ground-thread devices manufactured overseas. The ballscrews can move significant loads and masses with great precision, making them useful for aerospace to tool-making applications.
Options include linear lead-accuracy classes of T10, T7, T5 and T3 that comply with ISO 3408-3 ballscrew standards. Preloaded and non-preloaded ball nuts are available in multiple configurations, along with flanged, V-threaded and cylindrical keyed mounting. All ball nuts are precision ground and engineered to operate with precision-rolled ballscrews or precision-ground (T3) ballscrews. Screw diameters are 12 to 40 mm.
The ballscrews are also interchangeable with ones from other manufacturers.
“Nook Industries has … perfected the rolling process,” said Jeff Naymik, marketing manager for Nook Industries. “This allows us to achieve higher lead accuracies without the time-consuming grinding process.”
PMBS ballscrew accessories include metric and bearing mounts, standard end machine codes to support metric-bearing mounts and fixed-flanged mounts.
