New LMHB linear ball bushing can press fit into assemblies

★ By Lisa Eitel Leave a Comment

THK America Inc. now offers a type LMHB linear bushing for linear-motion applications. This linear bushing is press-fit into moving elements of linear motion axes to allow smooth traversal of round shaft.

The THK LMHB linear bushing achieves smooth and silent motion thanks to the spring effect provided by curved metal plates within the assembly that are proprietary to THK. More specifically, the spring characteristics of the curved metal plates minimize the play between the balls of the ball-bearing linear and the linear round shaft upon which it rides.

In addition, THK’s LMHB linear ball bushing allows for quick and easy assembly — a matter of simply pressing the socket into the housing.

Just consider how a metal ball bushing compares to a type LMHB bushing for linear motion. In contrast with conventional metal ball bushings, type LMHB bushings can be installed simply by being pressed into a housing. Further assembly steps or an adaptation of the adjacent construction are no longer necessary. Plus the bushing ultimately results in a more compact construction and overall machine build due to its simple and space-saving assembly.

The series LMHB is available in six different sizes with shaft diameters from 8 to 20 mm. In addition, the outer dimensions of the linear ball bushing correspond to ISO 10285 series 1. For more information. Visit this deep link on thk.com.  Otherwise, download the catalog PDF here.
