Waterjet Cutting
The typical waterjet cutting machine is based on a large, overhead gantry robot. But at least one manufacturer has developed a waterjet system based on a hexapod robot. The six-axis manipulation enabled by the hexapod design allows the waterjet to address more complex parts, including irregular parts. And the footprint of the hexapod-based design is significantly smaller than most gantry-based systems.
