PHD Inc. offers electric Series ESU linear slides that are IP54 rated with magnetic band sealing for rugged protection. These are electric-motor and belt-driven linear actuators with a robust enclosed design and high-capacity rail bearing system to deliver exceptional moment and load capability. Available in three sizes with travel lengths to 5,500 mm (with other travel lengths available) and speeds to 5,000 mm/sec, the electric base slides can combine to create multi-axis motion systems and form Cartesian robots.
Other key features include an optional dual-saddle version for multiple DOFs on one common axis; and an HTD8 belt for superior performance. The manufacturer’s “Your Motor, Your Way” lets design engineers pick their own motor and controls … or purchase complete actuators — linear motion designs with a pre-integrated motor — from PHD.
More rugged IP67 slide for applications that call for washdown
PHD Inc. also sells base slides with an all stainless-steel construction for an IP67 rating … originally developed to print directly on meat carcasses. Click here to download a PDF on the product from think.phdinc.com.
These linear slides are designed for high-speed actuation in typical food-industry applications as well as caustic washdowns. Benefits include the aforementioned IP67 rating with stainless-steel fasteners, pulleys and connectors … as well as suitability for horizontal and vertical applications and even push operation. Slide specifications include:
Payload capacity — 20 lb [9 kg]
Maximum Travel — 23.622 in [600 mm]
Maximum speed — 35.433 in/sec [900 mm/sec]
Maximum acceleration — 0.75 g
Temperature range — 32° to 120° F [0° to 49° C]
PHD Inc. also offers TS-X servomotor controller to complement linear-slide design
The TS-X servomotor controller is a compact high-performance, single-acting controller. A lead-free mounting PCB is used. Its power capacity is to 200 W; supply voltage is single-phase ac 100 to 115/200 to 230 V ±10% … and position detection is through an absolute resolver. Other TS-X servo motor controller specifications include teachable positions to 1,000; communication via RS232C : 1CH; and I/O via parallel (NPN or PNP), CC-Link, or DeviceNet connections.
